Living the CA Life:
CASA Integration Ball
By Shiela Angeli Peralta
October 16, 2006 marked the gathering of CA students at Dish, ABS-CBN Compound, Quezon City as they grooved to the ultimate sem-ender party: the CASA Integration Ball. Carrying this year’s theme “Step-Up. Don’t Leave Your Identity Behind”, CA students had surely stepped up and felt proud of themselves, living their CA life to the fullest as they party all night long.
The ever-vigorous CASA President, Mina Cruz hosted the event together with former PBB housemate, Rico Robles. There were performances by CASA’s homegrown talents like Mikey Agulto, Tek dela Cruz, Ron Bautista, Gelo Domingo and dance numbers by senior students and Footworks. Guest bands like Autoshift and Hale performed as well and even added more excitement to the party. One of the main events of the night was the Search for Mr. And Ms. CA (MMCA). Judges included former MMCA Ron Martinez and Verna Discartin, Keish Pusta and alumni, Adrian Gret and Mark del Mundo. All contestants were asked with the same question, “What is their best asset and how does this asset sets them and CA apart from other courses?” In the end, Hazel Reyes of 3ca4 and Ryan Alimon of 3ca3 emerged as winners. They will represent the CA community in the next Search for Mr. And Ms. AB. The Integ ball was not just attended by students alone, some professors were spotted like Sir Nikki Salandanan, Sir Bong Lopez, Ma’am Gwynetha Pusta, Sir Emer and Sir Aries Estrella who were there to enjoy the night and bond with their students. Another happening that stirred the attention of many was the arrival of the UST Growling Tigers who partied until dawn with the CA students. The CASA Integ Ball was sponsored by RX 93.1 and Salvo.
It was one whole night to remember. As CASA President, Mina Cruz explained it, the Integ Ball’s goal is to provide a venue where CA students can just chill-out and have fun after one whole semester. And she firmly believes that CASAns we’re able to achieve that through the Integ Ball.
